3 Ways to Create More Time in Your Week

19 Oct

I started early this morning. Early taking pic...

One of these days I’m going to put my foot down and resist the temptation to press the snooze button when my alarm goes off at 7:00am for work. Life would be so good if I could just wake up at 6 or 7 every morning refreshed and ready to begin my daily rituals. But I don’t! And because of it, there never seems to be enough time in the day… let alone the week! So, until I discipline myself to wake up early, I’ve come up with a few ways to create a little more time in my week… and a little more time for extra sleep 🙂 Hopefully you’ll be able to implement something from this list!

1. Pick Out Your Clothes for the Week and Iron them on the Weekend-  My mom used to do this when I was younger and I never understood why…until now! Every Sunday I pick out my clothes for the week, iron them and hang them in my closet. You will not believe how much time this small (and sometimes annoying) task will save you through out the week, especially if you’re prissy and girly like me. *Shakes head* I have to make sure that everything matches. Everything is properly pressed…. yea… O.C.D. much!

2. Create a To-do List for the Week- If you can’t tell by now, Sunday is generally my relaxation/preparation day ( is that an oxymoron?… well, you know what I mean).  I use Sunday to prepare for the upcoming week by reviewing my calendar, plugging in notes, meetings, assignments, etc… Planning ahead enables me to live out my week confidently and… well, prepared! This eliminates the need to wake up early on a daily basis to plan your day. Need help creating your to-do list? Click here.

3. Take a Brief Fast from Social Media– Now before you have a mini-conniption hear me out for a sec. I too am a social media junkie. Yes. I have Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest ( need I name more? I’m sure the judging has already begun) and a host of other time-wasters…. I mean “social networking applications” linked to my phone. However, there comes a time when all notifications must be silenced. All likes and comments ignored. All responses delayed. You get my drift. Disabling notifications and “unplugging” all social networks for a few hours will give you lots of free time to play with. It amazes me how much time people ( including myself!) spend on social networks aimlessly browsing, clicking and wasting time.

I wish you the best in your pursuit to create more time! Let me know how it goes 🙂
